Recital/Concert Critique Guidelines:

PLEASE ATTACH THE PROGRAM TO YOUR COMPLETED CRITIQUE.  (WITHOUT A PROGRAM, YOUR CRITIQUE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.)  YOUR CRITIQUE IS TO BE 2 PAGES, DOUBLE SPACED, 12 PT. FONT, APPROXIMATELY 1000 WORDS TOTAL.  Isolate two separate selections from the concert/recital as the focus for your critique.  The first selection should be from the first half of the program while the second should be from the second half.  Below, you will find a list of terms to employ in your critique.  You may also talk about the character of the selections.  ALL CRITIQUES ARE DUE ON APRIL 23 IN CLASS.  DO NOT EMAIL YOUR CRITIQUES!

Melody:   Pitch; Dynamics (piano, mezzo, forte – pp, p, mp, mf, f, ff)
Rhythm:  Beat; Tempo; Meter & Measure
Harmony:   Chords; Cadences; Major & Minor; Texture
Voice Types; Instrumentation
